DESIG*ness lands in Thailand

DESIG*ness continues to grow beyond Europe and reaches Bangkok, Thailand, through a new educational experience at the Faculty of Architecture, Rangsit University for the 2025/2026 academic year (and beyond).

The extracurricular project “Design by Disability”, led by Prof. Parisa Musigakama and Prof. Karawadee Surakul, engages architecture students in an inclusive design pathway focused on blindness. On January 8th, 2026, Luca Poncellini (NABA) introduced the DESIG*ness approach through a dedicated lecture followed by a co-design workshop with 9 students from The Bangkok School for the Blind (aged 10–18).

Through a collective, hands-on process, participants imagined and represented an ideal architectural space, exploring design through different perceptions, needs, and abilities. According to the teaching team, the workshop had a remarkable impact on students, professors, and external guests, opening new cultural and professional perspectives on inclusiveness.

A video testimony from the day is also available, capturing key moments from the lecture and workshop, and the voices of those involved. This video is mainly in Thai language, we suggest adding auto-generated translated subtitles on YouTube.
